About:

Anastasia Terranova was born in Palermo (Sicily, Italy).

Since 2013, she has been focusing on the historical informed practice of music from the Renaissance to the Romantic time. 

While graduating in Palermo, with the mark of Magna cum laude (under the guidance of Luca Dordolo and Sonia Prina), she joined the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel (Switzerland) where she successfully concluded her studies with Evelyn Tubb, in 2018.

In 2019, Anastasia begun a Master program at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where she graduated in 2021 with Magna cum laude, under the guidance of Xenia Meijer.

During her studies, Anastasia had the possibility of joining several masterclasses with some of the most known names of the contemporary early music scene, such as Andreas Scholl, Alessandro De Marchi, Andrea Marcon, Emma Kirkby, Margreet Honig, Kees Boeke, etc.

In 2016, Anastasia has been awarded the prize Fonds Marie Louise, and in 2017 she has been awarded a stipendium from the Cantilena-Stiftung (both awards in Basel, Switzerland).

Since 2015, Anastasia’s career is flourishing all over Europe: she is a member of Ensemble La Pedrina (CH) and collaborates with various other ensembles (Bernvocal, Suono Spirito (CH), Opalescences (FR), Ensemble Locatelli (IT), etc.) .

Aside many other performances, Anastasia sung several works by Monteverdi, Vivaldi and A. Scarlatti, conducted by Enrico Onofri (IT). She performed as Donna and Sirena in Händel’s Rinaldo in Halle (Händel Festspiele, DE), in Paris (Théâtre des Champs Elysées, FR) and in Basel (Martinskirche, CH), under the conduction of Christophe Rousset. She sang as Euridice in Lamento, a concept by Desirée Meiser on Monteverdi’s Orfeo at the Schlosstheater in Schwetzingen (DE), conducted by Giorgio Paronuzzi.

Anastasia also sang Vivaldi’s Gloria at Teatro Massimo of Palermo (IT), conducted by Rinaldo Alessandrini, the Great Missa in c minor by Mozart, conducted by Jos van Veldhoven (Amsterdam, Leiden and Den Haag, NL), and Telemann’s Orpheus (Basel, CH), conducted by René Jacobs.

Since 2020 Anastasia is singing the main role of Poppea, in L’Incoronazione di Poppea by Monteverdi, at the DJKT Tyl theater of Pilsen (Czech Republic), under the conduction of Vojtěch Spurný and the stage direction of Tomáš Pilař.
